Centre for Climate Business and Development (CCBD) Admitted into USAID Climate Finance for Development Accelerator(CFDA)

A Nigerian based Not -for- Profit Non Governmental Organisation, the Centre for Climate Business and Development (CCBD) has been admitted into the prestigious USAID Climate Finance for Development Accelerator (CFDA).

Convening the admission in a press statement on Tuesday is the Executive Secretary of centre, Miss Fausat Olawale who described the development as a huge plus in the efforts of the centre to build a locally focused but globally relevant platform for climate action advocacy in Nigeria.

“We are glad to announce that our centre has been approved as a member of the USAID Climate Finance for Development Accelerator (CFDA). This admits us into a global committee of practice which will strengthen our service delivery and capacity for rewarding partnership”, the ES noted.

According to Miss Olawale, the admission was conveyed to the management of CCBD through an email in which the network said “Given the local nature of your work, Centre for Climate Business and Development has been approved as a country-specific member of the Climate Finance Investment Network (CFIN).”

Officially launched in November 2022, CFDA is a platform designed to help countries meet their national commitments in alignment with the Paris Agreement to help achieve an equitable and resilient net-zero economy.

As a member of the CFIN, the network will circulate geographically relevant learning activities and partnership opportunities to the Centre for Climate Business and Development’s point(s) of contact as they become available.

The Centre for Climate Business and Development (CCBD) is a research, advocacy, not for profit and climate innovation development centre committed to filling the gap in Africa’s response to the climate crisis.

The centre is a data driven activism group offering services to private and governments, both locally and internationally. The center is duly registered with the Nigerian authorities through the Corporate Affairs Commission.
